as a beginner, was wondering if there is such a thing as spending to much time on a mount. After mounting a duck I will spend about a hour and a half adjusting feathers and so on. I have not done anything for customers yet just my own stuff and for family.Don't know if spending to much time on things or not. Just wanting to put the best mount I can for when I do decide to start taking customers.

You can never spend too much time on a mount to do the best jobe you can. Especially as a beginner. Speed will come in time with experience. As you start doing customer mounts time will become an issue but not really until you do a whole lot. And like I said you will get faster and faster with your mounts as time goes by. When I first started it took me nearly 8 hours to mount one deer. Now I can mount three in that time and they look a heck of a lot better.
