What does the word drumming means actually? Is it like shrinking?

It means for example, that the dryed skin of ear has seperated from ear liner.. creating a hollow area underneath or the skin on any part of a mount has lifted from it intended contour... Drumming means shrinking and lifting, yes.It is caused when a treated skin (leather) seperates from a taxidermy form.
