Something like a medium mammal could go 2nd day UPS if its packed in styroform peanuts. Small mammals, birds, capes I would only go UPS overnight. The temperature at the time of shipment plays a big role in your question.
I'm in Western NY and the temp right now is in the 20's. I often receive and ship frozen critters this time of year 2 day. The important thing is to insulate the container.
