Submitted by JERRY on 4/11/02. ( ) 65.172.57.195

I CANNOT SEEM TO FIND A MANIKIN I NEED IN A OFFSET FLARE FOR A DEER WITH A 7X17 MEASUREMENT. I CAN FIND A 6 3/4X17. HOW WILL THE QUARTER INCH AFFECT THE POSITION OF THE EYE?

A quater inch either way is usually ok, especially when you are going the shorter route, as you are. You will have more "play" when adjusting your skin on the face, eyes, pre-orbitals, etc. I have gone a quarter to a half over on measurements and come out fine, so you should have no problem. Good luck.

Make it 1/4 " longer

Hi Jerry, Another optiom is to make the head 1/4" longer. Cut behind the mouth area, extend it 1/4" and support the two pieces together, put duct tape around the opening except for at the top, mix and pour foam inside, let set and finish sculping. Its less work than it sounds. Good luck.
