Does anyone use Pneumatic Staple guns for securing capes to the back of forms? And if so, do you use 1/4 or 3/8 wide staples.

Use a Porter Cable gun, less than $100.oo but worth every penny. Try Home Depot. I believe it's the 1/4 listed as their upholstry gun.
If you aren't familiar with this company, you should be!
I have been buying from them for 20 years, the prices are better than
anybodies!
My stapler shoots 1/2" x 1/2" staples and was under $20.00.
I have several sanders, grinders staplers, finish nailers; all bought from them, all have seen years(a couple of sanders for 20 years) of use without serious problems.

I think thats it? If not do a search to locate their website.
I've used two or three lengths in my air stapler, but you seem to be asking about width? I would suspect wider would be better if that is your choice. More hold and less chance of driving right through if your pressure is a little high.
I prefer the quarter inch staples like used on upholstery. You can eliminate a lot of "puckering" and the 9/16 inch shanks hold ANY hide down. Also works great for holding sawtooth hangers on smaller pieces.
Its all in the skill of pulling the hide weither it puckers. I use the Craftsman, parts are readily availible, its about 12 years old and still working fine.
The Bostitch T-26 pneumatic is/was one of the best upholstery staplers made. I've had mine 35 years, yes i'm also a old fart. It was a 1/8 narrow crown in lengths from 9/16 down to 1/8 inch. I can't get parts any longer for mine as they have discontinued them.
Does any one have one i can canabilize for parts?
I've been looking for any other brand of pneumatic 1/8 crown staple gun but haven't been able to find one. If you know of any please let me know.
Thanks-Richard
Yes I use one, and love it! Its a Craftsman and shoots a 1/8 crown staples and I use different lengths for different jobs.
The best thing about them is they save a "butt load" of time. I was using a hand stapler and brads when they would not work..? The pneumatic saved me 30 minutes a head and gave me more control!
Its also a great tool for building habitat when attaching wire cloth to wooden structure before you cover it with "what-ever".
Get one as soon as you can, you will love it!
also shoots brads
I have a porter cable air stapler.....the recommended air pressure may blow the staple completely thru the hide! You might have to tone it down a little (5-10 lbs) and make sure you keep the stapler oiled. Other than that...it is a great time saver!
Richard Christoforo - I have a T-26 for $15.00 plus shipping. If you are interested, let me know.
I have a fasco air stapler,an need to get a repair kit. does anyone know who sells them or who would carry a kit? I found fasco co. but came to a dead end on finding any info.
looking for electric or air operated stapler that uses 5/32 or 3/16 to9/16 staples... FASCO is too much $$$ for small job that i have to do...thanks
