I have just finished skinning out my first duck and came across some pellet holes.None of the instructional videos mention anything about these holes and what to do with them.I'm sure you don't just leave them alone.Do you sew them from the inside or outside,or is there a different procedure. Thanks for any suggestions

have to sew up pellet holes. They will not cause you any problems unless when you are defatting the bird you make them bigger. Then you will have to repair any holes you put in the skin.
Sean,
Normal pellet holes pose no problems if they are left alone. Just be careful around them when you are using the degreasing wheel. Be sure to check the feathers on the outside of the bird as there will probably be some blood and/or clots in the feathers. Anything bigger than a dime and I will sew them up from the inside of the bird.
Previous advise is correct. I also degrease the holes first. with a wire wheel. This keeps membranes from building up at a hole and tearing the hole open more.
