Hi everyone. I'm a 24 year old amateur taxidermist. I love this site and have learned a lot. I've been on here quite a bit and enjoy the genuinely good people on here.
I have seen people post parayer requests and I've prayed. Now I request your help.
Just this past week my dad was diagnosed with brain cancer, anaplastic astrocytoma. He hasn't got a prognosis yet, but I fear the worst.
My mother is a breast cancer survivor, but this is worse. I don't know if my dad will be around to hunt and fish with the children I hope to have. I trust in the Lord, no matter what He has in store, but it is still hard.
So,I ask for any prayers you have to offer.
Remember, get out and enjoy life and nature. Stop and savor it all. I really feel that we outdoors people are closer to God than many, because we see Him everywhere. I know that Heaven will be wonderful, but I want to enjoy life here, too.
Hug your kids, watch the sunset and smell the proverbial flowers.
I thank you all and God Bless!

I will pray for your Mom and Dad and just have faith that everything will be ok.
Eric, I know you have faith and I do to. Trust in him and everything will be alright. My Prayers are with you and your family.

Eric, I will pray for your family. What you say about God and life is true. We must enjoy all that God has given us because we never know when He is going to bring us home. Your Dad's health is in Gods hands and I am praying he allows your Dad a little more time here on earth to spend with you. God Bless!
every body dies buti will pray and hope he lives to hunt for many more years
Eric,
I will remember you and your mom and dad in prayer. May God comfort and bless you.
Love in Christ

Get him the best care possible and research his illness.
Do what the doctors say.
Praying won't help.
Who are you to say that praying won't help? I'm sorry if you are faithless, but that gives you no right to condemn the beliefs of others.
Like all doctors are quacks, right? Spiritual well-being is as important to healing as medicine in so many cases. With faith is a quality of life. Your prayers are on the way. Hope your doctors are as strong as your faith obviously is.
I will be more than happy to say an extra prayer today in church for your dad. Take care and always have faith.
There are a myriad of things in this life that cannot be explained or prescribed away by the best human minds. While I'm praying for your dad, I'll also say a small one for Chris who is lost and just doesn't recognize it YET.
One thing that bothers me the most about myself, is how when I read something, like what Eric just posted, and I cannot control the emotions, the saddnes and the fear that one feels in times like that. I'm sure it was givin to me for the betterment of my life. Eric, I know how this seems to take from all your plans of the future. You must keep your Faith strong, and I am sure you will, you still have your Father. What is worse than what is facing you and your Father, is having a Father who is still alive, and has been for the last 21 years, but choose to not participate in your childrens life. God will be with you and your Family, and your Father will be in my prayers.
Like most of the older participants on this forum, I have lost both my parents. The only reconciliation I can find is that they lived their lives as they saw fit and were each rewarded with the success they sought. Unfortunately there is an order to this magical thing we call "life". All any of us can do when illness befalls a loved one is to place faith in the Supreme being and no small amount in modern medical science.
You are a fine son to care so much about your father and I am sure will do all in your power to help him through this crisis. Your concern for him speaks well of the man. It is your time to step to the plate and don the mantle of manhood that your father has carried so well for so long. Remember this, son, no matter how much time you spend with him, it will never seem enough if he loses his coming battle with the Gods of Fate. Enjoy every minute you can spare with him and try to share more of the obviously good times you have had in the past. You are walking the path we all fear. Walk proud and make your father proud by your actions. God go with you all and watch over those whose decisions will be so critical in the months to come.
Thanks you everyone for praying. You are all wonderful people. To hte two idiots that had negative posts, you can go to hell, that is where you are headed. I am a kind person, but when someone has the nerve to post something like that after I shared my feelings, well you are lost. May you find God or just keep your mouth shut.
Thanks everyone, Eric
I will also put in a prayer for you and the rest of your family. Be strong for your dad and tell him you love him often.

So sorry to hear about your father, your faith and the preyers of fine people like the ones posted above and below are what will make the biggest difference to you. My heartfelt preyers are with you and your father. Enjoy every day to the fullest and make the best of every moment. May god bless, Brad E. Bishop
I'm not trying to get you all upset. All I was saying is that you better do all the right things as far as treatment goes. I've seen people go with just 'faith' and guess what?
They died.
If faith is a positive mental attitude then I have tons of it.
Just because I don't believe that Jesus was anything more than a charismatic fellow that started a huge following doesn't mean I'm a bad person.
This is not the time or place for a debate! Please send me your email address. Eric, I will do what I can on my end.
Good luck to you and your family my friend. Bill K.
Yes, you are right, this is not the time.
Good luck to your father, Eric.
I will pray for your parents and the part about us outdoors men and women are closer to God because he is all over the outdoors and what he created is just awsome to be able to sit out there for hours and not be able to see it all.
how do you explain the miracle of birth? If it is one enemy I have it is people that don't believe in God or Jesus. How do you take a sperm and an egg and make that turn into bone, with living organs and make it talk and walk and make decisions etc.?
Eric, one thing one must remember is we all have our dates set and when it is time, there isn't anything we are going to do about it.I know how you must feel because I have lost some really close people due to this illness and I personally believe that it is the plague that Jesus talks about and you must believe that the world on the other side is much better than what we are currently living.Alot of people don't know how to take things like this but bad.Remember, something good always comes out of something bad. That is life.I will be thinking of you and your family.
