I've searched the archives and was unable to get the answer I need. I am mounting on a Research closed mouth browser manikin and need to know how to position the pupil of the eye. I have numerous reference photos but none show the eye at this extreme upward head tilt. Should the eye stay horizontal or should it look upward? I am a novice and this mount will be entered in my first competition so I would like to get it right. Thanks, Steve

I did one for comp and learned this if it's focoused on someting the pupil should be looking at it, if not the pupils can be level or not. It's a tough one.
Rule of thumb is always parralell to the ground. Then focus on what the deer is looking at or doing ,but don't get walleyeed.
most of my reference shows that the pupils are parrallel to the plane of the nose when the seer raises its head.

Generally speaking, the pupil is parallel to the jaw line when the nose goes up and parallel to the ground when the nose goes down. There are exceptions to every rule.
