Bloody Ptarmigan

My friend brought me back a few ptarmiagn from Alaska and they are covered in blood. I tryed washing one with soap and water and the stains did'nt come out. Are there any little tricks to cleaning these birds?

Epo-Grip's blood and degreaser, or look in any walmart or Kmart or groceries store in the deterget department and look for those removers in a small bottle. One other name is carbona ( spelling may be wrong.) Also if you check the search button on the left here you may find a ton more on this subject.

Walmart also has oxiclean. I have used this on ptarmigan and snow geese. It works good. Just rub it into the bad spots while you are washing in dawn and let it soak for a few minutes.


blood stains

I've always thought you remove blood stains with cold water,you could also try a borax solution...Lloyd

This product help's whiten the white's, use right out of the bottle.
