Dark Brown or black work well. Purple bubble eyes look awesome in a barn owl.Measure the outside ring of the cornea to get the size.

Purple bubble eyes, you can paint the reverse of a flint bird eye with a combination of Dioxazine purple added to Van Dyke Brown for a near perfect match. I use domed, round acrylic cabochons in 20mm painted with the dioxazine/brown mix. Could have sent a reference photo, but.............sent it to Tony instead...LOL
