Hi!
I'm new to taxidermy, but have good success so far with small animals and deer hides. I've been wanting to do a skunk and found a road kill this evening in good condition. I could use some advice on skinning the animal. Nuturally the animal smells bad (and so does the back bumper of my truck that it rode home on) and I'm wondering how to deordorize the skunk so I can get it skinned. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

It's all in the archives. Everything you could possibly want to know about polecats.
If you've ever done a squirrel, then do it just like that.It will be tough.Be sure you wear rubber gloves!I never finished my skunk, the smell eventually got to me.I believe you have to skin it first and then deodorize it.I'm not positive, you may want to double check that.
