Looking into doing taxidermy. Was wondering if The Serious Sportsman Taxidermy for beginners video course would be a good place to start as far as learning the art/trade and building a reference libary. It is on page 248 of the WASCO fall 2001 catalog. Thanks

to start as any...you can also join your state assoc. and go to the shows, enter the competitions and learn from the judges, look in the archives on this forum and start reading.
get some good refernce photos there a lot of them in some of the catalogs.
ask some of the local taxidermist in your area if they need help or if they would be willing to teach you, but be prepared to pay for the course and or do some grunt work for them such as fleshing and salting maybe even skinning.
taxidermy is hard work, hard to learn, and even harder to make a living at.
it takes long hard hours, dedication, good attitude, and some business sense.
you can never stop learning, you can never be good enough, and for gosh sakes dont give your work away.
look in the archives for all the discussions on pricing and price your work accordingly.
