I came across a deer floating in a lake, It had been in the water over the winter. The carcus was rotting and extreamly smelly. I convinced my friend to help me cut the antlers off. I have boiled them, bleached them and scrubbed them with house hold cleaners, but can't get the smell out of them. Can anyone give me any suggestions.
Thanks.

The smell comes from bacteria! So it's not as clean as you think it is! Antlers are very pourous and will hold the odor like a sponge.
Try soaking them in regular rubbing alcohol for a short while. This will kill the bacteria. Remove , rinse and hope for the best. Just a suggestion. Perhaps not the best but worth a shot.
