I recently mounted a bird and used some masking tape on the wings to hold the feathers in place, well i took off the tape but there is some glue remaining on the feathers from the tape. :( i have tried acetone and alcohol. does anyone have any other suggestions?

Try laqeur thinner and give it a little time to soak in. alcohol is not strong enough to disolve the glues. Next time get masking tape from a auto paint supply house. It has less glue and will wrok fine. YES IS COST A DOLLAR MORE. WHat is your time worth?
has some products that work, goo gone, oops, and goof off. They all have wierd names and they all seem to work.
....works great as well.Takes the polish off of my toes too! LOL
Next time, before you tape up the wings or tail feathers, take the strip of tape and dab it on your pants or shirt. It picks up the dust and lint and will take care of the problem you're having but will still have the tack you need.Give it a try. It really works!
Have a great day,
Dave
Acetone WAS fingernail polish remover for years. Now it's harder to find because of the dangers of acetone absorption through the skin. The "new" stuff is supposed to be acetone free.
Goo Gone works great without smelling too bad.
You seem to know a great deal about "finger nail" polish remover.....Now you got me worried. LOL
You're right, most of them proclaim to be acetone free now. However, the "Nail Strengthening" polish remover contains acetone yet. While the "Nail Strengthening" formula helps soften cuticles and add strength and resiliency for more beautiful nails, it's also strengthening your chances of damage to the liver and kidneys, but hey, you'll die with beauty enhanced fingernails!
