How about coating with Polyester resin.

Seeing how Cars, boats and more are made from Polyester resin and last for many years, you may want to look into it. Many of the suppliers sell it. Use chip bristle brushes for application.

Hi Jen,

Planning to build a kind of flooting garden-room-folly to be used as a lakeside retreat, I am asking myself the same question that you are: how to weatherproof paper mache? If you have any suggestions about how to go about it, or which methods and techniques are NOT successful, I'd be very grateful if you would share them with me.

Thanks

Rob
