SOme folks like to wait till the cape is rock hard, others send when moderately dried out. Shake off as much salt as possible before packaging. Don't put it in any type of plastic when you ship. I would use brown paper bags or other paper material to wrap it in, to keep excess salt from rattling around in the box.
