Skin OR Gut?

Judy,
I'm not sure I understand what you did for $1.00/inch. Gutting, to me, is "cleaning" a fish to eat. Skinning MAY mean removing the skin from the meat before cooking. Skinning MAY mean skinning the fish for mounting. I'll assume the latter.
I never heard of anyone doing "skinning" of fishes for mounting. There's a "first" for everything though. What's your time worth...dollars/hr? How long does it take you to skin a fish? If you think your time is worth $40.00/hr and you can skin a fish in 30 min., then charge $20.00 per fish. I don't know what $40.00/hr sounds like to you, but $20.00 per fish is "dirt cheap" in my opinion. If I could find someone to skin fish for me at $20.00 each, I'd empty 3 freezers in a hurry...eh?! I recommend you charge BY THE FISH based on how much time it will take you to finish. I hope this helps.

Depends On Lots Of Things.....

....But mainly on what kind of fish you are skinning. You should be able to make very good money at $1 an inch. Some species of fish take longer than others, if you have a good mix than you will make up time on the easy stuff like bass and walleye.
