Hi, I'm about start my first wt deer mount,although I watched few times of " HOW to mount" but I still not clear what kind of PAINT or say what kind of products for "FINISHING " I should buy? Please give details or steps.Thanks for advance.

Theres so many answwers to your question, Im afraid. I would wonder if you just do one or two heads if simple oil colors and a few brushes might be the easiest route to persue. I like lacquer paints from an airbrush, but Im a full time guy, and set up to paint daily, you know what I mean? As far as methods and procedure, first try the search/archive feature here. I think youll be pleasantly surprised by the amount of great info on this subject. Lets us know how you make out with your search! And your mount!

For commercial grade work,
you may want to purchase some sculpall epoxy clay. if you experience minor shrinkage around eyes, pre-orbs, or lips you may want to do a little filling in. i also plug my ear canals with a dime size piece of epoxy clay. i use the same material to create a lining inside the nose canal, and finally, any sewn up cuts in the ears will smooth over with the same stuff. i too like the laquer paints and gloss for the nose.
