The WASCO catalog has a great photo set of the fish filling method ,
it's skinning and tanning that's more important .
Check it out and good luck
The fish fill method is fine for smaller fish. i make a cardboard manikin to use with it on fish up to about 5 lbs. If you use it on anything larger, the mount becomes very heavy, so i use the foam manikins. hope this helps.good luck.
While fish filler, if used in a plaster half-cast procedure might fair well in commercial applications for smaller large scaled fish; bass, panfish, it's difficult to get satisfactory results on most coldwater fish, ie. trout & salmon, with it.
I have had excellant results with fish fill method with small fish ..like perch...but the problem is your not always going to get small fish.Styrofoam is better for big fish, and if your good at carving styrofoam with big fish you'll be able to do same with small fish.....Lloyd
