I am not an insurance agent. That being said, most homeowners insurance will not cover any building with a business in it. Most home based business dont have customers coming into thier house so they can technically get away with it. Taxidermists are different. If you have customers coming into your home you should read your homeowners policy, there is a great possibilty that your house is disqualified from coverage due to the business. This is another good arguement for having a seperate building for business. Taxidermy is a business- treat it that way. Get business insurance and talk to your agent about your homeowners insurance. Risking your home for a hundred mounts a year is not worth it. good luck Ed
Since this is only a hobby with you, ask your agent for a liability rider for customers coming to and from your house.
