Im faced with mounting a boar. how do i skin it? i've heard tube skin it or do it like you would a deer. which is better? why does everybody laugh when you ask how to flesh them and if its easy?
any info would be greatly appreciated.

Tony, tube it! I recently mounted two boars that were tubed and it was considerably easier than ones that are split up the back. Not to mention, no sewing. Good Luck
The reason everybody laughs when you mention fleshing a hog is so they wont start crying uncontrolably. I've been doing taxidermy since I was ten years old and I still start to twitch and winch at the thought of fleshing a big boar. Here's what to do;
Get a good sturdy fleshing beam, the wooden kind are best. Then sharpen your draw knife (the heavy kind with two handles) to a razor edge. Lay down on the beam, bending your neck at a stiff angle and with one quick motion pull the knife across your throat. Wa La, your problems solved. According to the bible everything after that is gravy, and much preferable to fleshing a hog.
