I am preparing a cougar skull that will probably qualify for Boone and Crocket and I was wondering if soaking it to remove the flesh would cause the skull to shrink? Should I use beatles or am I just being paranoid?

All skulls, and for that matter, all bone shrinks as it dries. That is why skulls are measured AFTER a prescribed drying period. The skull should just be cleaned well and dried in borax until after it is scored.....
