what is the consensus on bass stencils - are they worth the investment

I had a stencil given to me by a taxidermist who never used it. I tried it once and threw it out.
Mark Daniels paints AWESOME markings with them. His fish look great....then agagin he invented them so he better be able to use them. I won one as a door prize, tried it, can't get the hang of it. I saw Mark at Piedmont do a seminar and it was GREAT! Tried it again still couldn't do it. You might have better luck.
