If you are admitted to a hospital for surgery, chances are the doc will use the S-W blades on your carcass.
Neither blade is as sturdy and as applicable to many uses in this field as the Bard-Parker ribbed back blades that are used to cut rubber molds in the jewelry industry. Bard-Parker also manufactures a heavy duty, man-sized handle that is much more comfortable to use in our industry's applications. Bard-Parker is sold by Rio Grande Supply 1-800-545-6566 or on the web at: http://riogrande.com.
I have used the Swann blades for thirty years or more. The Bard Parker is a bit heavier in construction and are excellent for many chores in the shop because the spine is strengthened. The downside is flexibility, but you just can't have it all in any one product.
Bard-Parker ribbed-backs are $18.95 per 24 from Rio.
Swann-Morton is also offered by them for $17.95 per 100.
see ya
