Need auto tanner help fast!

I put 3 beaver hides in my auto tanner yesterday, and my tanner started leaking. Took a while to find the problem, but it turned out to be the o-rings were bad, and I couldn't get them until today. So this is what I did, I took the hides out of the tanner rinsed them off and froze them. I did not use the crysals, so can I use them now or are they shot from sitting in the tanner over night? I don't have enough crystals left to remake enough for the 3 hides. Thankyou Sherry

If you didnt use the tanning crystals - what did you use on them? That would help someone out as to whether or not you are doing the right thing.

OK - so you had put crystals into the machine and then the skins, and when you went to operate it - it began to leak. So - you pulled out the skins and rinsed and froze them. Now you are wondering if you put them back into the original solution - will they tan OK? If this is what you mean - then yes - they should tan alright, altho by rinsing them off before freezing you may have lost some of the crystals.

I would suggest thawing them out and adding a small amount of crystals to your solution and then running them. They should turn out fine. You cant add "too much" of the tanning crystals - but I'd add it just to be sure you didnt rinse off any residual. You shouldnt need a lot.

Go for it!

Thankyou so much
