Why does everyone recomend Dawn and not just any other dish detergent? Is there something special in Dawn that is not in the others?

Course, I'm not "everyone" either. I like Epo-Grip Blood Out Degreaser because it beats Dawn hands down and for washing capes I like Knobloch's Pro-Tex Pre Soak. Good stuff.

.. I believe I heard some taxidermists say that the pH of Dawn wasn't very high. The pH on other detergents are higher and you could risk slippage.

Try pert plus for oily hair(with conditioner). It cleans and conditions hair at the same time!

i find epo- blood out is a little hard on some feathers.ok on hair tho
Dawn is so go that they use it to clean up birds, and small animals after drunken idiots run big oil tankers into the coastline. If you have ever seen that mess - it can surely handle your taxidermy needs. Dawn is the best
