Tick control

Submitted by Rick on 08/21/2002. ( )

Last archery season i was hunting in up state new york.
I was able to take a nice 10 point in the 160 class.
When i went to cape the deer out.I found alot of ticks
on this animal.I had a 4 hour drive back home.The question i
have is there a spray or a way to kill these ticks on the
cape before i put it in a plastic bag for transport.I believe
if my wife found a tick in our house i would be on the divorce
disscussion board.Thanks Rick

Insect spray

after you put the deercape in the plastic bag spray the hell out of the inside of the bag and tie it shut. Most of the ticks should be dead by the way you get home. Once you get home throw it in the freezer for a week or two and then bring it to your taxi or if you are a taxi thaw it out and flesh it. That's how I treat all my customer capes when they bring them in fresh. Works pretty good.

Put some rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle and spray them . It drys fast . I keep a cup of alcohol next to me when I'm skinning heads to put the ticks in .
