Submitted by Jeff on 08/27/2002. ( ) 206.230.105.250

I have a turkey that was skinned ventricle with the head still attatched. It was harvested this spring. I will not get to mounting it for a while, how long can I keep it frozen until it is no longer applicatable? Thank You!

In my opinion if the turkey is well packaged and put in a manual defrost freezer (auto defrost freezers promote freezer burn) it can and will last quite a long time! I've had ducks I shot and never got around to doing my own for years and they are most often as good as the day I put them there!

Put it in one of those new vacuum sealed bags and you can no doubt leave it for a much longer time! Plus it makes the package easier to put in the freezer! I vac sealed a big old gobbler I got this spring, Lord knows when I'll get around to mounting it! But I aint worried about it!
