But you need a new neighborhood. Boiling a skull should cause no greater smells that grilling burgers or cooking onions and mushrooms on the kitchen stove. Residual blood and raw meat are causing the odors and I have to say, my shop seldom has such situations. I remove the meat from the capes and get it in the garbage where it belongs. I don't boil skulls that often as I opt to put them in a bucket of water and let them mascerate naturally. Your neighbors won't like that smell any better, however.
It is simple. By no means do I mean to put you down. Make sure you clean and wipe up everything very well. Any meat or fat remaining on floor, tools etc will rot and smell awful. I learned this! And it doesn't take a lot of meat either. It is easy to get in a rut of a quick cleaning without being thorough. Take the time and your smells will go away. I also use a dehumidifier to take out moisture from the air. This cleans up the smell too. Especially that musty smell. Sweep and wipe the floor with lysol. I believe the quality you put into your taxidermy should also be reflected in your cleanliness and organization. Good Luck
clorox diluted dowm makes a good discenfectant for everything and is inexspensive.
The above responses in addition to some glade plugs in
will leave your shop smelling like a tropical breeze
i use a coleman stove and cook my skulls outside.
