buffalo legs

I'm getting ready to mount a newborn buffalo. When I skinned him, I had to cut down the back of the legs to be able to free the skin. My question is, do I need to sew the back of the legs before mounting, or after? Which way is it mostly done or recommended? Thankyou for the help.

After

After is best to get proper fit and alignment. Stitching prior to mounting may result in gaps and gathers and an overall sloppy job. Best to stitch as you go, in my opinion.

Thanks
