I recently had a customer bring me in a very nice piece of driftwood he wanted his Bass put on. After a couple of days laying around I noticed a few bug sheds coming out of the wood from some holes that were present. After further checking, sure enough it was loaded with the little devels. Will they hurt anything, and if you thinks so, how can I get rid of them and bug proof other driftwood? Thanks for any suggestions.

Put it in a plastic bag and set in a warm place for a few days.
freeze the wood , that should kill all the bugs inside .
place in a plastic bag and spray with bug killer. if freezing killed all bugs there eggs and larva no bug spiece would ever make it thru a winter and we would have no bugs in the north.

When I am treating driftwood to use in reptile enclosures, I bake it in the oven if possable. If its too big, I do like George said.
