I'm just starting in the taxidermy business and have been looking into books and such and have noticed that all of the Breakthrough manuals and books at Van Dykes are cheaper than WASCO. I'm just throwing this out there for everyone because I'd like to know about it if someone else knew.

how fast is delivery time from where your located?
WASCO's is in Georgia and Van Dyke's in South Dakota.
a few cents sometimes doesn't matter when there's other varibles involed.
Just pick the one you want and go for it!

I just placed an order a week ago, called in the morning. Then remebered something else, barely got it added on. Within four days, had to wait through the weekend I had it. Enough said.
I guess you're comparing the price of the sale of the books to NON-Members, huh. Now what kind of discount does Van Dykes give the members of their book and video club? Sounds like price of doing business for both companies and for you, the tide's out.
......but their quality and service is top notch and they support and manage this site so why are we complaining? they make a super nice boar mannikin to boot. :)
Never have any problem with WASCO being slow and I live in central Texas.
In all honesty, you loyal WASCO customers have to admit compared to several other supply companies, they are slower. But then again, don't wait 'til the last minute to order and you'll be ok. If it arrives within a week of ordering, I wouldn't complain.
I'm spoiled to the super fast McKenzie shipping I must admit. I can order by noon and have it in my hands 3pm the next day! Or at the latest 2 days.
Just as a comparison, I placed an order at WASCO at 10am and a order at McKenzie thirty minutes later. The McKenzie order is delivered before WASCO even pulls the order to be boxed! It's a managment thing I'm sure. But hey, I aint complaining as long as I get what I order!

Along with McKenzie, there is none faster than Noonkester Supply. Order on a monday, it is shipped on monday UPS and arrives wednesday morning. cant do much better than that for standard srrvice. As for WASCO, if it is in stock, they are usually pretty efficient. The biggest problem i have found and hope ken is correcting is that when it is out of stock, nobody tells you. You wait a week to get somethign, then when the order arrives, the one thing you needed most, has been back ordered, and nobody has any idea when it will be in stock again. very frustrating!
Whats the difference who is faster.You guys can't be doing any taxidermy anyway.You are always sitting on your duff on this site.
Might I remind you folks that think WASCO is slow that this site is provided free of charge to you all. I placed an order at each of the big 3(WASCO,Van Dykes,and McKenzie)in that order last thursday.Yesterday I got the 2 latter orders at the same time. The only reason the WASCO order did not show is because I ordered a fish blank and other stuff and I opted to wait to have the entire order shipped at once when the blank was finished being made. Otherwise ,Their order would have been the same day or one later since it is a slight bit farther from me than the other two companies. I visited the WASCO office last January and I will tell you they operate at first class level.The gals in the office who take phone orders know whats available and usually know how something works or the pros and cons if you're not sure which of what to buy. Sad to say that when I call the other companies to order it is a little on the cut and dried ,buy it and see for yourself conversation. Its also been said before -if you want your order earlier ,either have it shipped at a higher rate(next day)or just order it sooner than you think you'll need it.You don't go to the gas station to fill up when you have to push the car there to do it ,do you?
