i have a med size cougar that is salted and skinned for a life size mount the skin is stiff on the legs and parts of the back what would be the propper way to soften the hide for a full size mount thanks gail

Put the couger in cool water and add a little bit of dawn dish soap. The soap helps to soften. May take 30 min. or a little longer
I personally wouldn't use soap before the hide is tanned, but that's me. Go to the "search" icon in the left margin and click it. Then type "Rehydrating hides" in the block and you get more information than you bargained for.
