First let me explain why a need to ask this question. I live in Iowa and am going on a Mule Deer/Pronghorn Antelope hunt in Wyoming on Friday of this week, in the regulations for Iowa it says that You cannot bring any head into the state, unless the brain is removed, if you hunt on or near a Chronic Wasting Disease area, our hunt area is right next to a CWD area. So, If I get an animal worthy of mounting I need to know how to cape it out. I have had heads mounted before but I have only had to skin the heads up to the base of the neck, so If anyone could give me a website or tell me it would be great. You need to check with your Taxidermist and let him tell you what he wants you to do.This way everything is done the way he wants it and it could save him some time in the long run.

Can you just teach me over the inter-net? See the relationship to need to know, as mentioned either go to your regualr taxidermist or have him recommend someone out west that can cape, split out, flesh and salt the cape for you.
you can,t learn to cape out,split the lips and nostrils, invert the ears in one of these post. maybe if we had until monday! ha ha
have the head mounted there or talk to your local taxidermist. if you try skinning around the lips and eyes etc, you'll have a mess!
