I am looking for a closed mouth WT Button Buck form. I have seen the one that Research Mannikins carry, but I'm not sold on it. I have also seen the one that Joe Coombs has, but it's an open mouth form. I would appreciate any suggestions. This is going to be a competition piece if it turns out good...........Sean K.

Every catalog has them. You have to check the measurements and match that up to your button buck.
I,m aware that most catalogs have button buck forms and of course I know that they come in different sizes. I guess that I was not clear enough as to what I'm looking for. I'm curious to know what form would be the best one to use in competition. What has worked for some of you out there that has maybe competed with a button buck. Thanks for your response Frank............Sean
sean, yes there are alot of forms out there but this may sound funny in alot of ways as to applying your cape to a form but a taxidermist i know has a couple of button bucks and a few small doe that are mounted on couse deer forms, and they look great. goodluck.
the form should not matter as much as your skills and talent to produce a quality competition mount. Too much emphasis is always put on the form. Just about all the forms out there are good forms and suitable for competition. It is up to you to turn the piece into what you want. Don't blame it on the form.
When you rely that heavily on a form - you are essentially relying on someone elses work... That may be fine for production work for customers, but are you as proud of it for a competition piece? As for the open mouth vs closed mouth thinig - again - dont rely so heavily on the form. Get a knife.. cut the foam.. reposition it closed... epoxy in place.. tada =)
Superpig, if your argument is correct, than I'm sure that it is safe to say that the truly talented taxidermist among us have no concern as to which form that he/she chooses to use for a competition piece. You are dead wrong. Not all forms are sculpted the same. I wish we all could be as smart and talented as you. Although I guess that would put a lot of suppliers out of business. Thank you for your friendly and instructional imput............Sean
