I am not a Taxidermist, by far, and I am not looking to make any mounts...I am trying to preserve hides and wings for different projects and have found techniques from salting to tanning with special preservatives. I need to know a good source of information that I can trust. I am looking at using pelts skins for things like chairs, cloths, and blankets. I am looking at deer, raccoon, and some exotics that I raise (reptiles). The wings are from like duck and maybe a macaw or parrot if my friends that raise them have any pass away. They are just going to be hung. Any ideas would be a big help. I like the idea of salting and old methods. I am not big on chemicals and going for an Old World look.
