I've read on removable antlers, but i need to know how far up the antlers do i need to drill the hole, from the antler burr up.They are big antlers on a caribou. Also how the heck do you keep the drill going straight. I guess a person just eye balls it eh. Thanks Tom Hall.

I drill them up all the way so that the round peg is in all the way.
The cut is just below the burr.
And yes it's an eye ball straight.
home depot, get the width you need and cut it off on your band saw, much tighter tolerances and if you grind some "tooth" into the outer sleeve they really grap the bondo, they have several sizes of stock, have found appropriate sizes for White Tail up to Moose and Elk. Good Luck, just don't follow the directions in Research, drill your hole first, tape the top of the sleeve, bondo in place and "cip" saw it off at the burr. Then grind some "tooth" into the inner sleeve, and bondo that into the sleeve, will leave you with a perfect fit. Feel free to email me if you feel you need further help, good luck
