pinning

i have just mounted a whitetail using McKenzie 8600 series form
also i used dp and hide paste. i pinned the depressions in the neck area using T pins and strips of vinyl with T pin heads almost touching
the mount looks good but it seems the depressions are a little too deep
did i drive the pins in too far or use the wrong thing? any help
will be appreciated..... mark

Use foam neck material under the T pins next time. Try to remove them before you hide paste dries or you'll have a dimpled deer.

neck material?

It's bird neck material, don't know where in the mag but look under the bird section on get some 1/2" for what your doing.

Now for the commercial: I rather use a quality hide paste from Epo-Grip and there is no pinning or foam strips to hold the hide. Get a hold of Steve and he'll guide you to the right product.

thanks George and Frank

Go to your local home depot, or whatever big chain store you have
you will find from 3/8, to 1 1/4 in the weather stripping aisle.
