I have read most of the old postings on european mounting and didn't find much on this topic. The question I have is about the cartilage that runs up the middle of the nasal cavity between the nostrals. Does this need to be removed or will it just dry up and can be left? Also it seems impossible to remove this without damaging all of the delicate bones in the nasal cavity? Also one other thing, I've removed the teeth after cleaning and simming my skull and was wondering if peroxide will take the brown plague off them or is there a cleaning process for this or do most people leave the teeth out of the mount?
Thanks

The nostril cartilage should come out. Peroxide will whiten the brown plaque, and glue the teeth back into the skull.
It's easier to get the cartilage out by the masceration process. For me. Much cleaner skull in all ways. No flaking from over boiling neither. And that's where you are finding the nasal bones seeming to be delicate. The boiling does that. They are not AS delicate with masceration.
how do you get the peroxide to glue teeth? i can get it to whiten but when i use it to glue nothing sticks.....lol
Terry caught it too. See how important proper punctuation of sentences and spelling is kids?!
Terry, top taxidermy secret..it hasn't come out yet. Peroxide is not only a whitener but will glue, dehair hides, AND works well to mix in with lacquer paints while painting crappies.
Please don't anyone take me serious on this one. It was a JOKE. Joke I say.
How are your deer doing Terry?
