Time needed to wash

How long is required for wasing a hide in a soapy solution (dishwashing soap)? Is the time different for different animals? Do all species need to be washed?

I haven't found these answers in the archives and I've been looking for a while...I dunno why, they seem like easy ones.

Not over 20 minutes at a time, and only twice at most

It should be in there, but I can't find it either. Twenty minutes is an arbitrary time, but it's because real soap is alkali. Lye removes hair, remember, so 20 minutes should have broken down all the blood and gease in that time. If not, you can do it ONCE MORE, but no more without endangering the hair. After washing, rinse thoroughly.
