Airbrushing

Not really taxidermy related, but I'm sure someone on this form can answer this question. I'm going to be airbrushing blank herters duck decoys with the herters paint. The question is what do I use to thin the paint for airbrushing, and what is the ratio. The paint is latex. New to airbrushing so any other tips would be nice. I'm also starting out in taxidermy I've done some small animals, next is a pair of Bluebills drake and hen. Thanks in advance.

Thats what maters, is it enamal based? then mineral spirits. Lacquer thinner for Lacquer based, etc. You can tell by the smell normally what the base and evaprotive are. What does the instructions say to use for clean up, thats the best clue.

The paint is in plastic containers, it has no clean-up instructions, but does have saftey instructions that all say use water to flush or dilute the paint if swallowed or it gets in the eyes.

Then it is acrylic paint

You could thin it with alcohol sometimes, but mix a little first to see if it thins or just separates. Water would be the main thinner, and you want the paint to be thn enough that the paint when sloshed around the glass paint bottle it dosn't stay on the sides of the glass.
