tanning first deer hide

I am going to use my next deer hide (white tail) in a chair, I am making. I have been told to pin it to a piece of cardboard. Then poor borax on it, and let it set for 24 hours. Will this work, and is there a better method.

No it will not work. Clcik the tanning button on the left.
