I have a grey fox i salted streched and dried i was wondering if and how i can rehydrate and split lips eyes and have tanned for shoulder mount can this be done now? thanks

Larry are you sending it out to be tanned? If so wait till it comes back from the tannery and split them then. I do hope the ears are turned.
But if your doing it at home rehydrate the cape in water with some bactericide in it or if your using ultra soft from Rittel's don't use any bactericide in the water. It should and usually rehydrates in 4 hrs or less. After that pickle the hide for three days take out drain and then split the lips, and eyes. Flesh, degrease, and place it back in the pickle over night. The following day you can neturlize the hide and then tan it.
If by chance you didn't turn the ears I would during the process of rehydrating inject the ear with the rehydration bath and hopefull this will softer up the ear for turning or try it during the pickle. Becareful cause you will and probally have slippage on the ear.
Ps: there's no need to stretch a hide for mounting purposes, it can over stetch the face and make it hard for you to work with it later.
