Hello:
Could someone help me to get the correct gearmotor for a homemade 55 gal drum to be used as a tumbler? Any info will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time

WWW.GRAINGER.COM They carry the exact motor and drive assembly, but you'll quickly find out, you didn't save any money building your own tumbler.

Use an arbor, for gear reduction.

Motor has a small pulley, the motor side of the arbor has an equal or smaller pulley, drum side of arbor has a small pulley then a large pulley on the drum. An old motor from a washer or drier will work just fine. You can build the frame from wood if needed, use carrier bearings for the axle, also you can use lawn mower wheels for guides.

This should get you through 3-4 years, until you can afford a better one.
