Advice on Tanning an Otter Skin

Submitted by Bill@Real Life on 01/21/2003. ( ) 142.22.16.53

Looked in the archives...no luck...
I know Research, Van Dyke's and WASCO have several products but...
I have never done tanning before due to the limited space I have in my shop. I have an otter that I thought might be good to try. Can anyone recommend a good tanning solution/method that would work for these greasy little water weasels?

This tan is very good for furs as long as you follow directions well and thin the leather down a little. It is a paint on ( Topical ) tan and is very easy to use and you dont need to oil it afterwards as the oil is added. B.B

Thanks so far...but JK...I searched the archives...

and did not find the answer I am looking for...What I am looking for is preferred methods or tanning kits/products that others have used. As I want to mount this critter, the type of tan can make a huge difference in workability and in the finished product. I know many of you out there have little secrets or have found some products better then others for certain types of hides...especially greasy ones like I know an otter will be...I am just looking for that sort of advise on what others have found to be the best product for this application.
