starting squirel first time have ?'s

I am a begginer i need some basic help. can i dry presserve or do i need to tan the hide. or should i pickle before any of that. if so what are the ingriedents for a pickle. i have 4-5 squirels to practice on. one more ? how do i stop hair slip i had a rabbit but that went terrible. Thanks

Dp the thing. I can see by the way you ask about pickling, you need to read the tanning section several times. There is a priority list of steps in tanning. You are confused about those and dont know what to pickle the hide with.

I have to ask, where is your directions for this whole proccess?

One of the best things that you can do is write down a bunch of questions then search the archives. Just type a key word like deer eyes and Bam you have more info than you can read in one sitting.
Then if you still can't find your answer ask a question on the beginners section. Good luck


I got a dry rabbit skin andd I was wonderin' if I can tan it

I shot a rabbit with a 20 gauge shotgun(iknow big no-no) and I just let it dry and tacked it up on the wall with a small nail. It's been sittin' there for about two months. is it still possible to tan it?
