I purchased a fox hide and the guy i bought it from salted it, when i recieved it it had a light smell to it so I wasn't sure if it was from the salting or the hide I was wondering if the hide will be okay to mount.

Jason, I can tell you that generally a fox will have an extremely strong odor about it- kind of a urine smell- almost skunk-like. Could that be the odor you smell? If so, it's ok...
Fox definately smell almost as bad as a skunk. Not all of them but some for sure. The first fox I ever skinned was salted and layed out on a table upstairs in my house. This was before I converted my garage into my shop. When I got home from work the next day, WHEW..... Holy crap did my house smell like fox. You learn to love that smell with time.
I geuss I will go ahead as planned then it sounds like thats what the smell is.
