Skin it out

Big J,

If the head has antlers attached to it then I would thaw it and skin it out. You will end up with freezer burn (if you haven't already) in the ears and probably around the eyes, nose and lips if it is not packaged air tight.

If it's packed air tight it MAY be ok to leave it a little longer but I wouldn't leave it to long.

Frost Free Freezers

If your freezer is frost free, I would process it. They tend to really dehydrate the specimens. In a regular freezer, it shouldn't be a problem till then.

Can I refreeze it?

re-freeze after you cape it. Make sure you split the eyes, ears, lips, nose and the tear ducts. good luck

When you say split these parts out does that mean to flesh them out before refreezing? Thanks Big J
