That old entrepreneur had a stable of artists working for him. He drew the 'cartoon' (the composition he had in mind,) and then had his crew paint in the color, sort of by the numbers I would guess, and then he put the finishing touches in. Wouldn't surprise me if he laid out the original in small size and had his apprentices square it up into an enlargement. You are right though, there is a lot of science ,( anatomy among the chief,) involved ...and if you do not have that...art..science or whatever you would like to term it are all for naught. Nice to hear you thinking it all out. Keeep drilling the anatomy and polishing the art. best rs/bm
At least get your facts straight before blowing off your mouth. Reubens not Renoir. at least you got one letter right.
Corrections can be made without personnaly bashing peoples keyboards through thier cranium. Very good to know you have a full knowledge of art history but use it with class.(isn't that what art is about anyways) And Renoir was a great artist . No personal attack intended but look at this site lately . It's more like a tag team toughman contest . Theres so much we can all learn from each other if we're not afraid of swollowing our tongue every time we open our mouth . Granted, if corrections are do , then do so, but can't we show a bit of personal integrity when doing so. Just a thought. Could lead to a much more beneficial neighborhood. And trust me I'm no Mary Poppins, but am somehow learning restraint along the way. Good Day-Jeff
In excuse may I say that Glitz and I are rather close maybe even closer than ETCC and Cscil but I did deserve the correction and shall see to it that an apology is personally placed. Glitz is a rather nice cuss and I should not have popped off like that. Sometimes I forget myself and am a bit impolite. Thanks for reminding me of my manners Jeff. rs/bm
