at least temporarily till new people enter this site.....now let me start by saying that i am not a "master taxidermist" i started doing it as a hobby about 6 years ago in between deployments as im an active duty soldier, however i have become quite proficient at taxidermy and all of my skills come first from gathering info from this site (99% archives) and then getting my hands dirty and doing it (i did have experience with skinning and fleshing as i have been trapping most of my life)here is what i have done (over the past couple of years). i have created the most comprehensive "trouble shooting / question answering" library collection available...i have done this by going to the archives and starting in chronological order ie:skinning, and did a search and screened all the posts that were usefull (provided info that pertained to subject) then printed and placed into 3 ring binders..now like i said i have been doing this for quite some time so that i now have an extensive collection of carefully organized books full of answers for just about every scenario, glitch, problem, specimen, body part, etc. you can come up with...and you know the best part....theres several different solutions for each...so theoretically speeking you can combine all the different techniques from the pluthera of experience that is voiced over this site everyday and claim to be trained by all the pro's LOL, actually it does lead to a "distant learning apprenticeship" sort of speak in my eyes.....and since i have been doing this and gotten caught up its rare that i see something new on my daily visits to the forum that is not already in my "library of knowledge"...of course this does not take the place of my Breakthrough mags or the occassional video but by god you would be a damn fool (i feel) if you didnt do the same if your serious about learning taxidermy "at home". now i know what some of you are saying.."why print it all and place in binders when you can just upload from the internet?"...well several reasons number one im not a computer guru and i only have dial up so it takes forever to sign on and lastly my computer is not located in my shop were as my binders are an arms length away from my workbench at any given time. anyway thanks to all the forum regulars that have been sharing their knowledge over the past few years and if i get any copywrite priviledges ill be sure to share the royalties LOL
THANKS TO ALL
ERIC

Wish I had thought of that.
But it is rare. There is only so many new ways to do things. If WASCO didn'r do such a good job maintaining the Archives I would have printed out many posts.
Okay then Eric, here is a second report you can give us -if you have the time. Who in your book of printed out posts gave both the most answers that you printed out, or gave the best posts. And on top of this, which years were the most productive. I didn't start reading the forums till July of 2000 and made it a point to read every archived message prior to that. Nowadays if you wanted to read it all it would take WAY to long. So, who has been the most valuable contributor - or best ten contributors?
on this post but it will have to wait till tomorrow before i can research exact numbers as im at work right now and wont get home till tomorrow morning...i can name a few off hand right now however i dont want to hurt any feelings if i was to forget someone without going back but the majority are the same ones you see now with some of the forum ol' timers (cur, john c, yox, george, frank k. and there's more) that no longer place posts....stay tuned tomorrow(or the next day depending how deep i dig and how much sleep ill need after tonight)for the answers. i too began really paying attention to the archives in early 2000. maybe we can turn this into some kind of taxidermy emmy's for "the most contributions to future industry leaders" of course ill have to deduct points for the sarcastic remarks that occassionally slip out of the finger tips of even our most professional of forum veterans LMAO
ill repost the results as "top ten contributers" when the numbers are tallied
enjoy
eric
your posts are among some of them as well as (how could i forget) bruce and ken but ill get facts tomorrow
